What to Expect from the Tour

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Saigon – Mekong Delta – Homestay
Cycling: 30-40 km
Kayaking: ~1 hour
Rise and shine at 8:00 AM for a scenic drive (about 1.5 hours) into the heart of the Mekong Delta.
Once you reach this tranquil countryside, hop on your bike to meander through dragon fruit orchards and emerald-green rice fields.
Stop for a tasty lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, grab your paddle- time to kayak through nearby waterways and get a firsthand glimpse of Mekong river life.
Tonight, settle into a homestay and enjoy the genuine hospitality of your hosts.
Day 2
Vinh Long – Tra Vinh
Cycling: 50-60 km
Kayaking: ~1 hour
Start your day with a dawn kayak session along the Mekong, catching the sunrise and watching local market life come alive on the water.
After breakfast, pedal across four different islands brimming with everyday hustle and bustle - don’t be shy to wave hello to friendly villagers!
Midday, visit Cholach township for lunch and discover the fascinating world of bonsai tree cultivation, a local specialty.
Your cycling route continues along the Co Chien River (one of the Mekong’s many branches) until you reach Tra Vinh in the late afternoon.
Day 3
Tra Vinh – Soc Trang – Bac Lieu
Cycling: 70 km
Today’s ride is a mesmerizing blend of paved roads, dirt tracks, and concrete paths weaving through lush green fields and Khmer villages.
Along the way, you’ll spot ornate temples, meet cheerful schoolkids, and witness rural life in its most charming form.
As you pass through Soc Trang, enjoy the gently rolling countryside before arriving in Bac Lieu for an overnight stay.
Day 4
Bac Lieu – Rach Gia
Cycling: 80 km
Cycle through a network of natural creeks, hidden villages, and expansive rice fields.
Keep an eye out for floating markets as you pedal toward Vi Thanh. Expect a combination of small ferries, local chatter, and scenic back roads.
After your final push on the bike, hop into the vehicle for a transfer to Rach Gia, your resting place tonight.
Day 5
Rach Gia – Tra Su – Chau Doc
Cycling: 75 km
Time for an off-road cycling adventure across village paths, wild grass fields, and cajeput forests.
As you follow narrow trails alongside rivers, watch local cargo boats float by - yes, this is the real Mekong! Next, pedal down single tracks lined with eucalyptus, crossing farmland where chili, tapioca, and corn are being harvested.
Top off the day with a boat trip to Tra Su Cajeput Forest, then rest up in Chau Doc.
Day 6
Chau Doc – Cho Moi – Cao Lanh
Today’s route leads you through Cho Moi Town, the homeland of Hoa Hao Buddhism, and winds toward Cao Lanh.
In the afternoon, swing by a French-colonial-era monastery built over 120 years ago - one of the earliest in Indochina.
Enjoy more cycling across islets and farmland before arriving in Cao Lanh, where you’ll spend the night.
Cycling: 70 km
Day 7
Cao Lanh – Sa Dec – Can Tho
Cycling: 65 km
Say hello to Cao Lanh, a bustling modern town. Then ride through tree-lined streets to Sa Dec, known for its flower farms and tranquil vibe.
Visit the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le (famed for its history and architecture), where you’ll also grab lunch.
In the afternoon, follow your guide through shady back roads toward Can Tho - the Mekong’s largest city. Expect vibrant river scenes, more local encounters, and a comfortable night’s rest.
Day 8
Can Tho – Vinh Long – Ho Chi Minh City
Cycling: 30 km
Your finale begins with an early boat trip to Cai Rang Floating Market, a kaleidoscope of color and commerce on the water.
Then, hop on your bike one last time for a scenic ride toward Vinh Long, cutting through lush back roads rarely seen by tourists.
After lunch, bid farewell to the Delta as you drive back to Saigon, concluding your grand Mekong adventure.
